We enjoyed last year's motorcycle vacation so much that we decided to do it again this year. We had purchased a new to us Goldwing GL1800 last November we thought we'd use it for this year's trip. We've been doing some camping on the Wing using tents and other camping gear in our Piggybacker trailer but decided to go with a new Aspen Classic tent trailer to tow behind the Wing. It's much more comfortable and has a larger space for all of our gear. We ended up only actually camping a few times on our 4500 mile trip but at least we were pretty comfortable when we did camp. On our longest day of the trip we traveled over 530 miles. That was a very long day for us. Usually we held it to 250 or so miles per day.
The pictures in the following folders were, for the most part, taken by my wife. I can't tell you how lucky I am to have her and I'm even more fortunate that she enjoys riding along on the back of our various bikes. She is becoming an accomplished photographer from the back seat and while she gets an occasional shot of the road or sky or back of my jacket, she also often surprises me both with the quality of the shots and the subject matter - she often notices things that I don't as my attention has to be more on the road than hers. Lots of the pictures you will see here aren't perfect - many of you will have more and much better images of the places we visited on this vacation but I selected many of these photos because they may give those of you who don't ride an idea of what the world, and some of the beautiful places in it, look like from the back of a moving motorcycle. Again, my thanks to my wonderful wife for putting up with a bouncing, vibrating motorcycle, sometimes lousy weather, dirt and dead bugs, and me.
